WordPress 2.6 Ugrade Complete
This was an easy upgrade and didn’t take more that a half hour. I am happy to report there were no issues so I won’t have to stay up late fixing things :. There are a couple of new features that are good such as being able to save the history of post and publish older versions. Not sure I would want to do that but it’s there just the same. The “press” option caught my eye and is going to make blogging about stories on the interwebs that much easier. See a story I like, press the “press” button and BOOM, blogging the story.
The Theme Preview addition is welcome. When I was making the choice of themes for BoneBuzz, it was a pain to go back and forth to see what the site looked like. The unfortunate result was that when looking at the layout, it was live on the site for everyone to see. Nice Change!
Gears is also another nice feature as so I can edit content locally instead of directly on the server. There are some PHP performance issues on my host only when editing that I have yet to figure out, so this will indeed end some of my frustrations (aside from moving to another hosting co).
There are some other smaller changes that I will be looking at and will comment later, if warrented, at a later time. Check out the video below:
